So, who are we? We are some locals led by Stacey Brzostowski, the Publisher and Editor of Haida Gwaii News. Why do this? People tell us they miss having a newspaper on Haida Gwaii. Even in 2024, a newspaper can help people to connect and find out what’s going on. We think local news is a great thing, especially when it’s fair, fact-checked, and full of context. Our biggest goal for our first year and beyond is to stay alive. We will need help, whether writing for us, advertising with us, sending photos, or reading a couple of stories, before you chuck the Haida Gwaii News in the wood stove. It’s okay!
