Mental health at GKNS

Mental health is about how we feel inside, our emotions, thoughts and how we handle things that happen in our lives. At Gidgalang Kuuyas Naay School, mental health is important because it helps students feel good and do well in class.

Teachers and staff listen when students feel worried or sad. Stress can come from schoolwork or from things happening at home, and the school wants students to have a safe place to talk about their feelings. There are activities that help students understand one another and learn how to support their classmates.

The school has a quiet room where students can take a break when they feel down. They can also talk with Miss Parser, the school counsellor, who helps by talking with students or doing creative activities like drawing.

The breakfast program helps students start the day focused. Dana, the cook, makes sure everyone can find something they can eat, even if they have different food needs.

All of this shows that the school cares about the well-being of every student.
