Asking him a hairy question

Dear Annie,

I was working in my garden and reminiscing about a conversation I had with a friend at the Edge of the World Music Festival this weekend. It turns out that she has had a recent career change and now offers laser hair removal.

This got me thinking about my first boyfriend who had an exceptionally hairy rear.

I have questions, dear Annie. Does he laser his buttocks hair? Perhaps he doesn’t and it’s gone all white and he likes it that way. It was quite soft and fluffy, as I recall.  And, if he cheated on me during our entire relationship how come no one talked about his hairy butt? Should I call him and find out?

Signed,

Wondering

Dear Wondering,

What an exciting time for your friend as she enters a new career! Kudos to her and her new business.

It appears that your garden reminiscing is bringing back memories of this past lover and he is on your mind. Should you call him? It’s up to you. If you think that reconnecting will bring you joy and leave you feeling well, then a trip down memory lane may be just the right thing. Who knows, maybe you can even talk about hair removal. If however you think that reconnecting will drain you, it may be best to leave the past in the past and enjoy pondering the state of their butt hair without inquiring.

I am not privy to your first boyfriend’s hair-removal routines, but I can speak to laser hair removal in sensitive areas of the body. Laser hair removal is offered by many technicians for sensitive areas including the buttocks and bikini line. This treatment option leaves nothing behind — it offers a hair-free area of skin. Body hair comes in all different colours, textures and patterns and most people do grow hair on the buttocks and parts nearby.

While we can muse about his grooming routines, one thing stands true, there is no right or wrong in the world of body hair. Folks can choose what feels best for their body and take it from there. Some may choose to go the hair-removal route, enjoying the soft feeling of hairlessness. Others may prefer to grow their body hair freely, and some may do a bit of both.

It’s all normal, it’s all beautiful and it’s all a matter of personal preference.

Big hugs,

Annie
