Hayl Zacks

My name is Hayl Zacks and I am running for Village of Daajing Giids Council. I first came to Haida Gwaii in January 2017 and visited every year until making Daajing Giids home in 2022. I am an Early Childhood Educator and Program Coordinator. I carry over a decade of experience in community advocacy and political organizing. My platform is focused on housing, youth programming, intercommunity collaboration, climate adaptation and accessibility: I am passionate about finding sustainable solutions to the housing crisis. I am committed to increasing youth programming, supported and run by the Village. I will represent our Village with respect and build meaningful intercommunity relationship across Haida Gwaii. I will take a proactive approach to climate change and its effects on the lands and waters that sustain us. I am committed to developing a more accessible public services and spaces.
