Jennifer Rutt

I am Jennifer Rutt, and after calling Daajing Giids home for 11 years, and proudly receiving my Canadian citizenship last year, I am running for Village Council to give back to the community that I have called home. My commitment to Daajing Giids and Haida Gwaii is reflected in both service and leadership, from volunteering with the Gwaii Animal Helpline to previously serving as Executive Director of the Misty Isles Economic Development Society (MIEDS). Through my background in economic development, strategic partnerships, and grant lifecycle management, I bring a practical, disciplined approach to governance. I am focused on delivering smart, forward-thinking solutions while containing village costs through responsible fiscal oversight and maximized external funding. As your councillor, I will work collaboratively to support local families, strengthen our infrastructure, and ensure our community remains affordable and thriving. I would be honoured to earn your vote.
