Kris Olsen

My name is Kris Olsen, my Haida name is Dluujuu. I am proudly adopted into the Raven Clan of Skedans. I am very honoured and privileged to be able to run for the position of mayor again in the community of Daajing Giids. I have spent three terms as a councillor and one term as Mayor, as well as working Gidgalang Kuuyas Naay Secondary School for the past 20 years. I believe a hard-working, healthy community supports all of its residents from the cradle throughout their life’s journey to the grave. To do this, we need to build respectful relations with the Council of Haida Nation, Band Councils, all Islands communities as we advocate regionally, provincially and federally for our community and Haida Gwaii. My priorities this term are: #1 Waste Water Treatment #2 Housing #3 CT Scanner. Haawa, thank you and merci for the opportunity to be your Mayor.
