Local artist Jackie Bell of Old Massett was recently honoured with an art show in the new artist exhibit hall at the Masset Market building.
Volunteers collected Bell’s artwork and had him explain the inspirations behind his process. Hummingbirds (Dagdagdiiyaa) are a favourite muse for the artist, as noted on written cards displayed alongside the artwork.
The event provided an opportunity for the local community to support Bell’s work. Organizer Jenny Nelson told Haida Gwaii News that the exhibit will soon be moved to the Skidegate Museum.
