Magnitude 4.2 earthquake shakes Haida Gwaii

    According to Earthquakes Canada, a magnitude 4.2 earthquake struck about 66 km west-southwest of Port Clements at 8:17 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 3.

    The earthquake struck at a depth of about 23 km, and was felt by some local residents.

    An automatic warning was issued by Natural Resources Canada following the tremor. No tsunami is expected.
