Daajing Giids residents are invited to learn about the Men’s Shed program and how to start one locally at an information meeting on Saturday, Jan. 24, at the Daajing Giids Community Hall.
The session will be held in the Eric Ross Room, with a catered lunch served at 12:00 p.m. The presentation will begin at approximately 1 p.m.
Guest speaker Jan Fennema from the Men’s Shed Association of B.C. will outline how Men’s Sheds operate and what is involved in launching a chapter in a community.
Men’s Sheds are informal, community-based spaces where men can gather, work on projects, learn new skills, and connect with others. While they often attract older men, the program is open to adults of all ages and backgrounds and is designed to be welcoming and inclusive. Organizers say the model has proven effective in reducing social isolation and strengthening community connections.
The meeting is open to everyone, regardless of age or gender, and is intended for anyone interested in supporting or participating in a future Men’s Shed in Daajing Giids.
No registration is required. Just show up hungry and curious.
