    Daajing Giids RCMP weekly report November 10th – Nov 17th, 2024

    Suspicious Occurrence

    At approximately 02:11 a.m. on November 11th, the Daajing Giids RCMP was called to the 3200 block of Oceanview Dr. for a report of a possible prowler. Officers arrived on the scene and determined that no prowler but there was a possibility that an animal had been in the vicinity.

    Mischief complaint

    On November 11th, a report of mischief to a business on Oceanview Dr was reported to the Daajing Giids RCMP. The business representative felt that a disgruntled ex-employee may have caused the mischief.

    Single-vehicle collision (pic attached)

    On November 12th at approximately 11:15 p.m. the Daajing Giids RCMP was called to a single-vehicle collision on Alliford Bay Rd near Sandspit. Upon arrival, a black SUV was located coming to rest against a tree. Through investigation, it was determined the vehicle went off-road left, leaving the paved surface and came to rest against a tree. A lone occupant in the vehicle was treated by BC Ambulance for serious injuries. The investigation the cause is still under investigation, but speed and alcohol are potential factors

    Cause Disturbance

    On November 14th a report of two adults yelling with one later walking down Oceanview carrying a child was reported to the Daajing Giids RCMP. Through investigation it was learned that an argument between two adults had resulted in one leaving, taking their child away from the scene. RCMP members arrived and spoke with all parties, who determined there was no assault, although tensions remained high. No concern for safety and the RCMP offered a safe ride to the adult and child.

    The Daajing Giids RCMP in partnership with the Village of Daajing Giids are currently working together to tow around the newest piece of equipment in their fleet, a speed reader board. This board will be towed to strategic locations in the area to remind drivers of the posted speed limits in an effort to reduce speeding in the area!
