The much-anticipated Men’s Home Run Contest had about 25 entrants this year, each hoping to outshine the others with their long-ball prowess.
The event began leisurely, with four players managing just one home run each after the first six contestants. The atmosphere was quiet, with the crowd waiting for the fireworks to begin.
The contest truly started to heat up when someone hit three home runs. This modest lead, however, was soon to be eclipsed by an unexpected contender.

Enter Reuben Morigeau, a player not initially tipped as a favourite. Taking the crowd by surprise, Morigeau launched four home runs in a stunning display of power and precision. The audience erupted in a frenzy, their cheers growing louder with each swing. Morigeau’s performance was a clear statement that the contest was far from over and anyone could take the crown.
As the batters swung, heavy hitters expected to dominate failed to surpass Morigeau’s impressive four home runs. It seemed reigning champion, Hyland Fraser, was the only one left with a chance to dethrone Morigeau.
With the pressure mounting, Hyland approached the plate with an air of confidence.
His first four swings sent the ball soaring out of the park, tying Morigeau’s score and showcasing why he was the defending champion.
But Hyland had a flair for the dramatic. In a move you couldn’t have scripted better, he left the plate, strolled into the stands, and casually enjoyed a beer amidst the roaring fans.
Returning to the plate, Hyland prepared for his final swing. The fans fell silent.
In a moment that would be remembered for years to come, Fraser sent his fifth home run sailing out of the park, going a perfect five for five and retaining his title as the Home Run Champion.
Hyland Fraser’s legendary performance in the Men’s Home Run Contest secured his status as a true champion, while Reuben’s unexpected rise made him a new fan favourite.

On the women’s side, there was also a great turnout with 16 participants.
Jennifer Friesen, the defending champion, was able to fend off all the challengers and took home the women’s longball title with the longest hit while just coming short of knocking a couple out of the park herself along with some other big hitters.
