Mission RCMP arrest ‘French Fry Felon’ after tip jar thefts

A man dubbed the “French Fry Felon” by police was arrested in Mission, British Columbia after allegedly hiding inside a fast food restaurant overnight and stealing from tip jars.

Mission RCMP detailed the incidents in a public update released in early March.

Police said the investigation began after staff at a local restaurant reported tip money missing on more than one occasion. Surveillance footage showed a suspect entering the business before closing and remaining inside after employees had left.

According to RCMP, the incidents occurred on consecutive nights in late     February and early March.

The man was seen on video staying in the restaurant overnight and taking cash from tip jars.

Investigators believe the same individual was responsible for multiple incidents at the restaurant.

No injuries were reported.
