The 2024 BC Summer Games, held in Maple Ridge from July 18 to 21, brought together over 3,000 of the top young athletes from across the province.
Among the competitors were four talented young athletes from Haida Gwaii, who showcased their skills.
Haida Gwaii’s wrestlers delivered strong performances in their respective weight classes.
Anna Price fought hard in the girls 60 kg category, earning a commendable sixth place.
Austin Beachy demonstrated his prowess in the Boys 84 kg category, finishing just shy of the podium in fourth. Payden Ismay grappled his way to a fifth place finish in the boys 51 kg category.
In athletics, Allison Beachy represented Haida Gwaii in multiple events, showcasing her versatility.
In the girls long jump, Allison secured a 14th-place finish with a jump of 4.19 meters.
She also competed in the girls shot put, achieving a 13th place finish with a throw of 7.95 meters.
Allison was part of the girls 4 x 100-metre relay team, which finished in sixth place.
